Senator Pamela J. Althoff
Senator Althoff serves as a member of the: State Government and Local Government committees.
Althoff has a varied background, having worked as an elementary school teacher, administrator with the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, sales and marketing representative for Kepper, Tupper and Company, McHenry City Clerk/Collector. She is currently the McHenry City Mayor and works for Hey and Associates, Inc.
As city clerk, she authored the City of McHenry Newsletter and created the notification process regarding all development proposals for the city of McHenry. As mayor, she established the "Mayors Consortium" to identify and coordinate northeastern McHenry County transportation issues .
Within the community, Althoff is a member of MCC Foundation Board, Community Development Block Grant Board and serves as Secretary/Treasurer on the McHenry Council of Governments.
She has also been involved with McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, MCC Friends of the Foundation, McHenry Country Conservation Referendum, McHenry Area Economic Development Commission, Fox Waterway Agency, Kiwanis Club, McHenry DARE Parents Organization, Municipal Clerks Association, League of Women Voters, Northwest Community Arts Council, Orchard Beach Homeowners Association, and the National Education Association.
Althoff received her bachelor's degree in education at Illinois State University and a Master's Degree in education at Northeastern Illinois University.
Senator Althoff lives in McHenry. She is the stepmother of two children.
