Sam McCann is dedicated to tackling the issues that matter to you. Sam isn't a career politician; he's a successful small business owner who has created hundreds of jobs. As a husband and father who has lived in the Carlinville area for over twenty years, he shares our values and priorities. That's how we know Sam McCann will always put our communities first.
Spouse: Vicki A. McCann (married 15 years) ~ One Son, Trayton, 6; One Daughter, Katherine, 2 Education: Attended Lewis & Clark Community College and Blackburn College Worked with trade associations and charitable organizations throughout the state, including:
- Ten-year member of National, State & Local Association of Home Builders
- Served on the Board of Directors of NAHB & Executive Committee as State Representative.
- 2007 president of the Home Builders Association of Illinois and ten-year Board of Director member.
- 2004 president of SAHBA and Board of Director member.
- Member of Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating.
- Member of multiple area Chambers of Commerce.
- Served on General Assembly's Joint Task Force for Indoor Air Quality ("Mold Task Force") in 2004.
- Member of the Illinois Department of Health, Division of Environmental Health, Advisory Board.
- Helped organize and participated in Habitat for Humanity's "The House that Congress Built" in Springfield (spearheaded by Congressmen LaHood & Shimkus).
- Organized and aided, several community projects including: renovations and ramps at The Parent Place whole-house renovation, both interior and exterior, for the Dorothy Milford Project; planning and fundraising for Macoupin County Trails Association.
- Sole sponsor and organizer of "The Can-Do Concert for Charity" benefiting Contact Ministries and the Sangamon County Community Foundation.
